At last five of the stranded eight Super Eagles players have landed in Uyo on Tuesday afternoon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Fifteen out of the 23 players started training on Sunday while others are expected on Monday.

However, according to the update late on Monday, the players were stranded in Lagos and Abuja due to the ongoing strike in the country.

The latest update from the team media officer on Tuesday afternoon indicated that 5 players including Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Frank Onyeka, and Paul Onuachu have landed in Uyo.

Hopefully, the duo of Ademola Lookman, and Maduka Okoye will also arrive before the day runs out.

Nigeria on third position with two points from three games will trade tackles with Bafana Bafana of South Africa and will also travel to Abidjan to engage Benin Republic in Matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
