Nigeria's Super Eagles is set to play Zimbabwe on Sunday without injured Taiwo Awoniyi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles played out a 1-1 draw against the Crocodiles of Lesotho with the Nottingham Forest forward playing in the attack with Victor Boniface.

He was subbed off for Terem Moffi in the 59th minute due to the groin injury he sustained in the course of the game.

As the Nigerian side is preparing to travel to Rwanda for the second game against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Awoniyi is planning to return to England for more check-ups.

The injury will be bad news for his club Nottingham Forest as he just returned to action after spending almost a month in a treatment room.
