Sampson Adedeji
Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has reaffirmed the team’s confidence and determination ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday in Polokwane, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking after the team’s second training session at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, Ekong expressed strong optimism about Nigeria’s chances, stressing that the squad remains united and fully focused on the task ahead.
“We are optimistic. We’ll always fight to the end,” Ekong said.
“We never stop believing. Two crucial games ahead the first against Lesotho on Friday, then we return home. Right now, all focus is on Lesotho. The boys are in camp, focused, and the spirit is high.”
The Saudi-based defender further emphasised the team’s commitment to turning their belief into results.
“It’s been the same for us all along we know we must win these games. It’s great that everyone sees the opportunity now, but we’ve always believed. We’re optimistic and fully concentrated on Friday’s match,” he concluded.
