The head coach of Warriors of Zimbabwe Brito Beltarman has continued to speak in defence of the players he invited for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Football fans and stakeholders in the country have continued to criticize the players selected, as the team was dominated by players born abroad and players who are yet to represent the country.

Players that are plying their trade in the South Africa Premier League were also ignored which did not go well with some of the football officials in the country.

The coach in his response insisted that they invited players based on what they needed in the team.

"We do not look into the status of the players, all the decisions were made in the interests of Zimbabwean football.

"It was a technical decision after we analyzed the players that we have in the same positions, the competitiveness, and the minutes they have had", he said.
