2026 World Cup Qualifier: Zimbabwe Confirms Venue For Bafana Bafana Clash

After weeks of deliberation, the Zimbabwe Football Federation has finally confirmed the venue for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The federation had initially considered staging the encounter in Botswana, but on Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announced a change in plans.

According to the official statement, the high-stakes penultimate qualifier will now take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, next month.

The choice of venue is influenced by the fact that Zimbabwe currently does not have a CAF-approved stadium to host international matches. 

The Moses Mabhida Stadium, with its modern facilities and capacity to accommodate a large turnout of supporters, was deemed the most suitable option.

The clash promises to be decisive, as both teams are still in contention for a spot at the 2026 World Cup, and ZIFA believes the Durban venue will provide the right atmosphere for such a high-profile encounter.
