Rave-of-the-moment Ademola Lookman will be late to the Super Eagles training camp in Uyo because his Italian club Atalanta will play a rescheduled Serie A game at home against Fiorentina on Sunday.

The Super Eagles will open camp this weekend and the earliest Ademola Lookman will be in Uyo will be Monday.

On Friday, the 2013 African champions welcome Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier.

A top team official will pleaded anonymity revealed that he will arrive late to join the Nigeria senior men's national team camp.

"Lookman won't arrive in camp this weekend, the official stated. His team is playing a league match this weekend (Sunday) and will want to increase his goal tally following his spectacular performance in recent matches." He said.

Ademola Lookman, 26, rewrote history when he became the first player to score a hat-trick in a Europa League final as Atalanta won their first major European trophy.

He fired five goals in the Europa League and has doubled that figure in Serie A.

A hat-trick on Sunday against Fiorentina will see him match his Serie A goals’ haul of last season, when he netted 13 goals.
