2027 AFCON: Botswana, Namibia Sign MoU

The government of Botswana and Namibia continue to work round the clock In order to secure the hosting right of the 2027 African Cup of Nation, BSNsports.com.ng understands.


Confederation of African Football in May opened the bidding for the countries hoping to stage the biennial competition.


Tanzania, Morocco, Senegal, Botswana and Namibia( joints) are the countries that has shown interest in the competition.


Minister of Sports in Botswana Hon. Tumiso Rakgare and his counterpart from Namibia Agnes Tjongarero on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the relationship to secure the hosting right.


The Botswana government continue to push for the hosting right despite accusing Namibia of a lack of commitment to the bid.


African soccer ruling body will announce the winner of the hosting right in January 2023.
