Reacting to questions from the media, Maryrose Richard-Obioha, said, "We are expecting to produce a champion that can represent the club anywhere in the world. The champion remain the club champion for the whole year. So, the tournament is very important to us. That's why you see a lot of then coming out. Hon. Secretary, Lady's Golf Section, Lizzy Asomugha said the course is fully ready for the championship urging all handicaps to compete fairly adding that she's ready to go for the first position in the championship. The ceremonial tee-off was witness by the Club's Captain, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, former President, Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, LGAN, and Past Lady Captain of the Club, Ngozi Osunhor. Other Past Lady Captain s, BOT member, Chief Lufadeju, 2012 Champion and wife of BOT Chairman, Sandra Haruna and host of other Ladies. Jummai Abdullahi is the defending champion and championship which tees off on Thursday comes to an end on Saturday with Men playing to climax the 2021 edition of the tourney.
