The Nett game will see the Veterans and Super Veterans playing today while Amateurs take on the center stage on Friday and Saturday. Special guest and Former Speaker, House of Assembly, RT Hon. Yakubu Dogara who teed off the tournament rated it so high stating that it contains golfers with high level of skills in the game, "The golfers should be a bit careful. I have played against some of them, they're terrific and bold. Sometimes, some of us believe it is all about power. But if you watched their swing, they're very careful and more calculating in terms of precision. For lovers of golf, this should be cynosure of all eyes because a lot will be displayed here. Hopefully, we will join if they permit us. He added, "As the occasion glaringly demonstrates anything organised by our mothers and ladies are always wonderful. This is an atmosphere we love to be to support women and I guess that is what true men are built to shoulder women, to support them and make sure that they get to their full potentials. Anything a man can do, a woman can do better. So, this is something we thought only men can do better but we wait to see what will come out of it and that's why I am here. Reacting to questions from the media, Maryrose Richard-Obioha, said, "We are expecting to produce a champion that can represent the club anywhere in the world. The champion remain the club champion for the whole year. So, the tournament is very important to us. That's why you see a lot of then coming out. Hon. Secretary, Lady's Golf Section, Lizzy Asomugha said the course is fully ready for the championship urging all handicaps to compete fairly adding that she's ready to go for the first position in the championship. The ceremonial tee-off was witness by the Club's Captain, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, former President, Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, LGAN, and Past Lady Captain of the Club, Ngozi Osunhor. Other Past Lady Captain s, BOT member, Chief Lufadeju, 2012 Champion and wife of BOT Chairman, Sandra Haruna and host of other Ladies. Jummai Abdullahi is the defending champion and championship which tees off on Thursday comes to an end on Saturday with Men playing to climax the 2021 edition of the tourney.
