22 Nigerian Athletes Set To Compete at NCAA Championships In Eugene

The NCAA Track & Field Championships return to the iconic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, from June 11th to 14th, with 22 Nigerian athletes set to represent their colleges on the national stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

These athletes, some of whom have excelled throughout the 2024 and 2025 collegiate seasons, are among the top contenders for individual honors at this year’s event.

Leading the Nigerian contingent is Temitope Adeshina, who made history earlier this year by winning the women’s High Jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships—becoming the first Nigerian to ever claim an NCAA Division I title in the event. She has since matched her own National Record of 1.97m and qualified for the World Championships.
