2nd Africa Military Games: Team Nigeria Dominates Shooting Event

Team Nigeria continues to demonstrate their prowess at the 2nd Africa Military Games in Abuja, 2024, with outstanding performances at the shooting range located at Shittu Alao Barracks in Keffi, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
On Day 4 of the competition, the Nigerian shooting team excelled in the men's 200m rifle-prone position, winning both individual and team gold medals.
Sergeant Moses from the Nigerian Army, competing on target 9, topped the field with an impressive score of 217 points, securing the gold medal.
He took the lead from the very beginning, scoring 52 points in the opening round and maintaining his momentum throughout the event.
Tunisia's Seif Azizi finished in second place with 208 points, while Algeria's Bennatia Kheireddine took third with 204 points.
In the team event, Nigeria's success was further solidified by Sergeant Moses, who was joined by Sergeant Alex Abakwa (155 points) and Stephen Thomas (201 points), both also from the Nigerian Army.
The trio combined for a total of 575 points, earning gold in the team competition. As of now, Nigeria leads the shooting medal standings with a total of 16 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Algeria follows in second place with 11 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze.
Kenya is in third place with 4 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals, while Tunisia holds fourth place with 2 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
The shooting events will conclude on Tuesday with the Falling Pan competition, and Nigeria remains poised for further success.
