3Sc Defeats Kwara United in Ibadan

SHOOTING STARS DAY: 3SC DIS-HARMONIZED THE HARMONY BOYS IN IBADAN The win is a morale booster for us ---- AGOYE, FATAI, others Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan on Thursday defeated one of the Nigeria Professional Football League side, Kwara United by 2-1 at Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The Afonja Warriors appeared to have settled earlier in the game with several incursions that left Shooting Stars goalie, Michael Uweri stranded in the first half of the game as Stephen Alfred of Kwara United sent the visitors on the driving seat at 28'. Immediately after the lead, the Oluyole Warriors changed the complexion of the game with wide accurate passes that forced the visitors to run beyond their limit and the changing of the rhythm resulted to several scoring chances thwarted by the Kwara United solid defense . At the dot of the first half was a break jolly even cross from Shooting Stars diminutive midfielder, *Fatai Gbadamosi* who located their dazzling supporting striker, Ope Oluwafemi and he disappointed the Afonja Warriors goal tender ,Johana with a dropping header at 45 minutes. First half ended with one goal apiece. During the break, the UK trained Coach of Ibadan Warlords, Edith Olumide Agoye took some time out to dish out some technical instructions to his players with specific job to do on the field of play. One of which was the changing of the formation that neutralised their visitors. Coach Bala on his part, effected three changes: he fortified his midfield and bolstered the defence and thus brought the game at par with the host. This seems to make the job a good jolly ride for the Harmony Boys as they enjoyed the game a bit before the resultant goal came at the 85th minutes where Emmanuel Morris ran like a wounded lion from the left back to seal the victory for the Oluyole Warriors. The whole stadium was sent on a frenzy mood with fans celebrating their fund raising day with a massive victory against the NPFL side. Coaches reactions : 3SC Coach, Edith Agoye said : "The victory is a morale booster for the team and that doesn't mean we would rest on our oars at NNL, particularly when we have four strong contenders in our group who want to promote to the elite division. If I have opportunity to play one or two friendly matches before the resumption of the league, it would help a great deal in shaping the team for the task ahead. Coach Bala of Kwara United.
