The 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, may feature 24 clubs if report from the virtual meeting held on Monday by the Club Owners of the Nigerian National League (NNL) to adopt the Point Per Game (PPG) format to end their league season, and effect the promotion of 3SC, Crown FC, Niger Tornadoes and Kada City to the elite league.
According to Exclusivenews, the meeting which lasted to the wee hours of Monday night is said to be having the support of the top notchers of the Supervising Ministry.
According to sources who were privy to the meeting, the clubs have decided to use the PPG to end their season 2019/20, which stopped in Week 5, with some clubs playing four matches and others three. It was revealed that the meeting resolved to use an influential business guru to push the idea of having 24 clubs in the NPFL and possibly forcing the league to be played on abridged format of A & B, with 12 teams in each group.
As at the time of the report, we gathered that the leadership of the League Management Company (LMC) are not moved by their decisions.

However, if Point Per Game is to be adopted, then, Kada City will still maintain their top of table position in group A1, while Niger Tornadoes substitute Kwara United at the summit of group A2 table. Kwara United played 4 matches and garnered 7 points while Niger Tornadoes played one game less but level on the same 7 points.
In B1, the team with overall highest points with 13 from 5 matches, 3SC maintained their position on the summit of the table but Bendel Insurance lost its leadership position to Crown FC. Insurance played 5 matches having 10 points as Crown FC have 9 points from 4 games.
