4th Adamu Yola Unity Cup: 16 Teams Know Round 16 Opponent Today

The draws for the round of sixteen (16) of the 4th edition of the Adamu Yola Tangale Unity Cup will hold today at the Conference Hall of the Jewel Hotel Kaltungo by 10am.
The tournament which is organized mainly to promote peace and unity, discover, develop and promoe football talents in Tangale land is an annual football tournament financed by Pastor Yakubu Adamu Yola.
This edition has more teams participating as Shongom and Billiri Local Government Areas of the state joined Kaltungo LGA in the football tournament which kicked off in October 2019 with the total of fifty-one (51) team taking part in all three LGAs of Gombe State.
Six teams namely Sikirit United, Shembe United, Akwai United, K. United, Komta United and Bare City quailed from Billiri LGA. The six teams from Kaltungo LGA are Samba Boys, All Stars FC, Kampandi United, Asuba City, Super Pillars and Highlanders Tula. Kulishin United, Pero Boys, Panwa United and Lalaipido United completed the sixteen teams list from Shongom LGA.
Speaking with newsman at the Jewel Hotel Kaltungo on arrival for the draws, the coordinator of the finals Mr. Promise Uwaeme spoke on some of the expectations of the tournament.
“The tournament is growing and we are committed to ensuring that we don’t lose focus on the core things which are promoting peace and unity, discovering, developing and promoting football talents in Tangale land, for us to achieve all these among other things we must be transparent with our conducts while trying to raise the bar.”
“New ideas are coming in and with no time, this tournament will be among the leading and well known football tournament not only in Gombe State or even the North-East but the country at large.”
“I want to on behalf of my boss, the financier of the tournament send our sincere appreciation to the chairman of the LOC and his entire team for the wonderful works they have done. You must agree with me that it will take only commitment and full dedication to achieve the progress so far.”
“All is now set and by the grace of God teams will know their opponents tomorrow for the final part of the tournament which starts on Wednesday 18th December, 2019 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium, Kaltungo.”
