5th NYG: Olubiyo gives scholarship to Kwara U15 female handball players

The chairman of Kwara state handball association, Emmanuel Olubiyo have given a year scholarship to winners of the female U15 team at the recently concluded National Youth Games in Ilorin.
Olubiyo stated this at the reception of the victorious handball team at Oyun Baptist High School, Offa, Kwara state.
He advised the students to focus on their education which is their primary assignment in school adding that sports men and women are intelligent not dull.
Olubiyo said, "I want to inform the parent of this girls who won gold medal for Kwara state in the female handball event that my foundation have decided to give a year scholarship to them. This is a way of encouraging them as well as charging them to do more.
"I have always told people that sports men and women are super intelligent because it takes calculations to play the game of Handball. A dull student or students who are not taking their academics seriously cannot excel on the court".
He commended Oyun Baptist High School, Offa for providing space to train the players as well as the parents for releasing their wards.
"I must appreciate the parents of these girls for releasing their children to train for over a year and Oyun Baptist High School Offa, for providing facilities and equipments for the girls. The association would have not achieved this feat without your cooperation", he added.
Olubiyo called on Kwara state government to support handball.
He said, "I am calling on the state government to assist the federation. It is a known fact that the present deputy governor, Kayode Alabi was a handball player and won a trophy for the state. We hope he will be able to support the association so that Kwara can continue to dominate Nigeria".
Responding, the Principal of Oyun Baptist High School Offa, Sunday Lambe promised to always support Kwara state handball association whenever they come knocking.
Lambe said he is excited the student of Oyun Baptist High School brought glory to the state at the recently concluded National Youth Games in Ilorin.
