5th NYG: Team Delta Maintains Lead With 94 Medals As Adamawa, Benue, 5 Others Missing on Medals Table

Team Delta will surely emerge the overall winner of the ongoing 2019 National Youth Games in Ilorin as they maintained the lead till the last day of the annual tournament.

BSN Sports can report that Team Delta extend its lead with 94 medals consisting of 36 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals leading the runners up Lagos who garnered 21 gold, 35 silver and 13 bronze, totalling 69 medals.

Bayelsa state displaced Akwa Ibom in 3rd position with 41 medals which comprises of 17 gold, 5 silver and 19 bronze medals while Akwa Ibom have 15 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals to place 4th on the log.

Team Edo is in 5th position with 26 medals (10 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals) as Ogun state follow closely with 9 gold, 6 silver and 12 bronze medals to maintain 6th position.

Team Oyo and Ondo are 7th and 8th respectively as Oyo garnered 7 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze (33) while Ondo has 6 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Team FCT moved a step up the ladder with 6 gold, 4 silver and 12 bronze medals (22) to be placed 9th on the log while Plateau state completed the top ten with 33 medals consisting of 7 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze.

Team Osun, Kaduna, Kwara, Abia and Anambra are 11th, 12th, 13th, 14 and 15th respectively.

Osun state has 16 medals (4gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze), while Kaduna won 9 medals (4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze) as the hosts, Kwara garnered 21 medals (3 gold, 6 silver and 12 bronze), Abia won 12 medals (3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze) and Anambra in 15th position won13 medals which consist of 3 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, seven states are yet to win any medals. The seven states are Adamawa, Benue, Cross-River, Katsina, Kebbi, Taraba and Zamfara.

However, the final medals table will be released before the closing ceremony later today.
