5th NYG: Team Delta Tops Table With 37 Medals, Enugu, Rivers, Kaduna, 11 Others Missing

Team Delta on Thursday moved to the top of the overall medals table with 37 medals after edging out Lagos and FCT at the ongoing 5th National Youth Games in Ilorin.
Delta state as at Thursday night won 16 gold, and 10 silver and 11 bronze (37 medals) to overtake Lagos and FCT who were at two different times being at the zenith of the medals table.
Lagos state are in the 2nd position having garnered 9 gold, 18 silver and 4 bronze (31 medals) while Team Edo occupied the 3rd position with 8 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals ( 16 medals).
However , Team Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Ondo and FCT were 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th on the medals table respectively.
Team Bayelsa has 6 gold, 2 silver and 14 bronze medals, while Akwa Ibom has 5 gold, 4 silver and two bronze medals as Ondo won 4 gold, 6 silver and two bronze to be in the 6th position.
Team FCT has been pushed further down the ladder as it occupied the 7th position following its failure to win medals since climbing top of the table on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ogun, Osun, Plateau, Ekiti, Borno, Anambra, Jigawa,Oyo, Kwara, Bauchi, Kogi, Imo and Kano states made top 20
However, Adamawa, Benue, Cross-River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Nasarawa, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba and Zamfara states are yet to win any medals.
