74 Clubs Battle For Supremacy In President Federation Cup Finals

No fewer than 74 clubs will participate in the states final of the 2025 President Federation Cup, which will hold across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) this weekend.

Amongst the clubs that will take part in the 2025 President Federation Cup states final are traditional heavyweights like Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaigners, Heartland Football Club that will do battle with a non-league side, Oyisa FC of Ngor Okpalla in the Imo State FA Cup final slated for Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday and the interesting encounter between premier league defending champions, Enugu Rangers International and Nigeria National League (NNL), a second tier league club, Ijele FC at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.

In Port Harcourt, another big name in Nigeria club football, the Pride of Rivers, Rivers United FC, will face off against Wilbros FC in the final of the 2025 Rivers State President Federation Cup on Saturday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium by 3 pm.

In Abuja, the FCT Cup final billed for Area 3 Playground, Garki, will see the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) team clash with a youthful side, Family Worship Church (FWC) FC, with young but technically sound coach Bunmi ‘Blair’ Haruna as the head coach.

Elsewhere, Division 2 club, Solution FC, and Edel FC will meet in the Anambra State FA Cup final match on Sunday at Neros Stadium in Nanka while in Bauchi state, Wikki Tourists FC will confront Toro/Waringa FC in Sunday’s final of the Bauchi state FA Cup at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

In Kaduna, Nigerian Army outfit Green Berets are set to take out Simon Bent FC in the President Federation Cup state final on Sunday even as Yobe Desert Warriors will square up with Gujiba FC in the state FA Cup final in Damaturu on Sunday.

Sani Abacha Stadium will be the battle ground between Sai Masugida’, Kano Pillars, and Barau FC to determine the state’s FA Cup champion on Sunday while Gombe United will lay ambush for El Shama FC in the state FA Cup final.

In the same vein, NPFL club Katsina United and Dan Baro FC will meet in the state FA Cup final on Sunday at Mohammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina just as FC Bako and Kogi Central FC will clash in Lokoja on Saturday for Kogi State FA Cup final.

Meanwhile, only a handful of states will present women’s football teams for the National President Federation Cup with Rivers State FA presenting two women’s football teams, Rivers Angels and Sporting Angels FC, featuring in the Rivers State FA Cup final in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Also, Lagos state will be represented by two clubs, Unification Ladies who shattered FC Robo’s 14-year dominance in the LSFA Federation Cup by securing a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory after a tense goalless draw on Friday’s LSFA Women’s final.
