The second day of the handball event at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State on Sunday produced thrilling encounters across both the male and female categories, with Lagos, Delta, Abia, and Adamawa recording impressive wins, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In the female category, hosts Delta State continued their bright start with a 15–10 victory over Imo after leading 9–6 at halftime.

Adamawa showed resilience to edge past Ondo 14–12 in a keenly contested tie, while Lagos secured an 8–6 win against Kaduna, having established a slim 6–3 lead in the first half.

The final match of the women's category saw Team Abia overpower Edo State 21–15, with the Abia girls dominating from the start with an 11–6 halftime advantage.

The male category was equally exciting as Lagos State overcame a strong challenge from Rivers in a tightly fought contest, winning 24–21 after holding a 12–7 halftime lead.

Delta State proved too strong for Ogun, cruising to a commanding 29–14 victory, while Niger defeated Kano 22–15 in another decisive encounter.
