AAC 2022: Adeshina Wins Silver Despite Arriving Mauritius Thursday

It was ecstasy for Team Nigeria's Temitope Adeshina at the 2022 edition of the African Athletics Championship in Mauritius, as she beat the odds to win a silver in the women's High Jump.  

Adeshina, who had not had a proper meal since Wednesday; as she had been travelling and only arrived in Mauritius Thursday, went straight into action in the women's High Jump event. 

Despite the stress she had been through, Adeshina clinched a silver for Nigeria, jumping in a height of 1.79m.

Meanwhile, Team Nigeria won a silver in the Mixed 4x400m: the quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ella Onojuvwewo, Ayo Adeola & Patience Okon-George posted a Season's Best of 3:22.38 to finish 2nd behind Botswana who won GOLD in a time of 3:21.85.
