Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC has officially unveiled Coach Yusuf Salihu as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The unveiling ceremony occurred at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Sports Centre, Kwara SWAN Secretariat, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, Coach Salihu expressed gratitude for the opportunity and outlined his vision for the club: “Football is teamwork, and that’s why it remains a collective game, I can’t do it alone. With unity, commitment, and the support of the management and stakeholders, we will succeed.

"My vision is to build a vibrant, formidable, and disciplined team that can compete with any club in Nigeria and beyond, win laurels, and take ABS FC to greater heights.”

Also speaking at the unveiling, ABS Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, underscored the importance of encouraging homegrown coaches.

He drew inspiration from Coach Tunde Sani’s recent triumph in the President Federation Cup with Kwara United, noting that it was the opportunity given that paved the way for his success.

The club’s management expressed confidence in Salihu’s capacity to lead the team into a new era of growth and success, while urging fans and stakeholders to rally behind the coach and players as they prepare for the upcoming season.
