Just as reported, the African Club Association (ACA) was launched at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday and the inaugural meeting was also held, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The President of CAF Patrice Motsepe who chaired the occasion emphasised on the need to have the association in Africa just like the European Clubs Association (ECA).

He made it clear that one of the objectives of the association is to protect and promote the interests of the clubs in the continent and also to make them viable globally.

During the course of the meeting elections were held for various offices and Nigeria was not left out.

Akwa United chairman Paul Bassey was elected as the 2nd Vice President of the body, Kaizerchief's Jessica Motaung won the 1st Vice President position while Yanga SC of Tanzania boss Hersi Said emerged as the President.
