Leone Stars of Sierra Leone defender Alex Bangoura has been ruled out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria's Super Eagles, BSNsports.com.ng reports.


Cambuur of Holland defender who made his debut against Togo sustained an ankle injury during a team training on Wednesday.


His Dutch club has confirmed that he will be out for 6 weeks and will miss the first qualifiers against Nigeria and Guinea Bissau.


Unfortunately, I will not be available for Sierra Leone's first two qualifying games because I have fractured my right ankle and I'm now on crutches," he confirmed.


The first two qualifiers are slated between May 30th and June 14th, 2022.
