AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Sierra Leone Star Midfielder Ruled Out Of Nigeria Clash

Few hours to the opening AFCON 2023 qualifiers Group A game against Nigeria's Super Eagles, Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will be without their key midfielder Kwame Quee, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

Kwame played a key role the last time Leone Stars visited Nigeria and was instrumental to their astonishing comeback from 4-0 down to 4-4.

He was part of the team to the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon where they narrowly lost the opening game 1-0 to Senegal.

African soccer ruling body, CAF communicated to Sierra Leone Football Federation that Kwame will miss the game against Nigeria due to the red card he got in the 2021 AFCON final group game against Equatorial Guinea.

He's expected to be back for the Leone Stars in their second match of the qualifier against Guinea Bissau in Conakry.
