AFCON 2025: Algerian Veteran Pays Tribute To Super Eagles Over Gruelling Travel Schedule

An Algerian veteran journalist, Dean, has paid tribute to Nigeria’s Super Eagles for enduring a demanding travel schedule at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles’ logistics over the past week have drawn widespread attention, with several coaches and stakeholders, including Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, expressing dissatisfaction over the travelling arrangements for teams.

 Complaints have centred on the fact that, unlike host nation Morocco who have remained in Rabat throughout the tournament, other teams have been forced to shuttle between cities.

Reacting to Nigeria’s situation,

 Dean praised the resilience and professionalism of the Super Eagles despite the physical and mental toll associated with constant movement.

“It’s been quite the week for Nigeria,” the Algerian journalist noted. 

“They played Algeria in Marrakesh on Saturday, then travelled to Rabat to face Morocco on Wednesday, and now they are set to play Egypt in Casablanca tomorrow.”

Nigeria’s demanding itinerary has seen the team cover significant distances in a short period, raising concerns about player fatigue and recovery ahead of crucial fixtures.

Despite these challenges, the Super Eagles have continued to compete at a high level and will be hoping to cap off their AFCON 2025 campaign on a positive note when they face Egypt in the third-place playoff match in Casablanca.
