AFCON 2025: CAF Appoints Mali Official For Nigeria, Tunisia Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Malian referee Boubou Traore to officiate the crucial Group-stage encounter between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Tunisia at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The high-profile fixture, scheduled for Saturday, is Nigeria’s second game of the group and is expected to play a significant role in determining the qualification prospects of both teams.

CAF has also named Senegalese official Issa Sy as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the encounter, underscoring the importance attached to the match.

Both Nigeria and Tunisia are regarded as heavyweights of African football, and their meeting is anticipated to be one of the standout fixtures of the group phase. 

The appointment of experienced match officials is aimed at ensuring fair officiating in what is expected to be a tightly contested contest.
