The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially dismissed circulating rumors that entry to some matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) would be free, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speculation had arisen suggesting that CAF, in coordination with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), might open stadium gates at no cost due to concerns over low fan turnout.

However, CAF moved quickly to clarify the situation. In an official statement, the governing body emphasized that all tickets for AFCON 2025 matches will continue to be sold according to existing regulations.

“Reports of free entry are completely false. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through official channels to attend the matches,” the statement read.

CAF reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and organized tournament experience for fans and players alike, urging supporters to rely only on verified sources for information regarding ticketing and match arrangements.
