By Sampson Adedeji

Following the completion of the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football has named a new competition ambassador, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 24 qualified countries were officially confirmed on Wednesday after rounds of qualifying matches.

CAF on Thursday named former Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire midfielder Yaya Toure as the new ambassador of the competition.

Yaya led Cote d'Ivoire to the title in 2015 beating the Black Stars of Ghana in the final via penalty shootout.

The former Barcelona star has also won the African Player of the Year award on four occasions, which made him one of the most decorated African players.
