AFCON 2025: Cameroonian Trio To Officiate Nigeria vs Mozambique Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a team of Cameroonian referees to officiate the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 group-stage encounter between Nigeria and Mozambique, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The match will be handled by 29-year-old Abdou Abdel Mefire, who has been named the centre referee for the fixture. Mefire will be assisted on the flanks by his compatriots, Elvis Noupoue and Carine Atezambong.

The appointment underlines CAF’s continued confidence in Cameroonian match officials at major continental tournaments. 

Mefire, one of the younger referees on the CAF elite list, has steadily built a reputation for composure and consistency in high-profile fixtures.

Nigeria and Mozambique are set to battle for crucial points in the group stage as both sides look to strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of AFCON 2025. 

All eyes will be on the officiating team as they oversee what is expected to be a keenly contested encounter.
