Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has described his experience at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as significantly better than his previous outing at the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chelle, who has guided the Super Eagles into the round of 16 at AFCON 2025, reflected on his improved mindset compared to the last edition of the competition.
The Malian tactician was in charge of Mali at the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, where his side were eliminated by the host nation.
Speaking during his post-match press conference after Nigeria’s final group game, Chelle admitted he feels more composed and relaxed this time around.
“I’m cool, I’m calm, much calmer at this AFCON than I was at the last one,” Chelle said.
Nigeria sealed top spot in their group after defeating Uganda 3–1 in their final group fixture, finishing with a perfect nine points from three matches.
The Super Eagles will now shift focus to the knockout stage as they continue their quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title.
