AFCON 2025: Chelle Refuses To Reveal Plans For Tunisia

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has declined to disclose his tactical plans ahead of Nigeria’s crucial second group match against Tunisia at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking after the team’s opening fixture, Chelle reflected on the goal conceded against Tanzania, describing it as avoidable, but praised his players’ response.

“The goal we conceded against Tanzania is very bad, but in reality the reaction we had after the goal was a big reaction that saw us score immediately, and that was very important,” Chelle said.

Looking ahead to the clash with Tunisia, the Malian tactician remained guarded about his approach, insisting that his focus remains on maintaining the team’s philosophy rather than revealing specific plans.

“Tunisia is a good team. I can’t reveal my plans yet,” he added. “We will keep to our philosophy and we will check if we will need to change something in the line-up.”

Nigeria will face the Carthage Eagles in what is expected to be a decisive encounter as both teams battle for a strong position in the group.
