Zambia striker Patson Daka suffered a neck injury after attempting a backflip celebration following his equalising goal against Mali at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Daka brought the Chipolopolo level after Mali had taken the lead, sparking wild celebrations among the Zambian players and fans.

However, the Leicester City forward attempted an acrobatic backflip and landed awkwardly, immediately clutching his neck.

Medical personnel quickly rushed onto the pitch to attend to the forward, who was later helped back to his feet as concerns grew over his condition.

Despite the scare, the match continued and ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams sharing the points in the

Group-stage encounter.

Zambia will be hoping Daka’s injury is not serious ahead of their next fixture in the tournament, as he remains a key figure in their attack.
