AFCON 2025: Jackson Brace Powers Senegal Past Botswana

Senegal began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign in emphatic fashion with a convincing 3–0 victory over Botswana on Tuesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson was the star of the show, netting a brace to inspire the Lions of Teranga to a dominant performance in their Group fixture.

Senegal took control of the game early, dictating the tempo and piling pressure on the Botswana defence.

 Their dominance paid off when Jackson opened the scoring, finishing calmly after a well-worked attacking move.

The West African giants continued to press after the break, and Jackson doubled Senegal’s advantage with his second goal of the night, underlining his growing importance to the team. 

A third goal later in the match sealed a comprehensive win and left Botswana with little chance of a comeback.

The result gives Senegal a strong start to their AFCON 2025 campaign and sends a clear warning to their group rivals, as they look to mount another serious challenge for continental glory.
