AFCON 2025: Lookman, Chelle Make Team Of The Group Stage

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle and forward Ademola Lookman have been named in the Team of the Group Stage at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, following Nigeria’s impressive displays, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria dominated their group, winning all three matches in convincing fashion, a feat widely credited to Chelle’s tactical intelligence, discipline, and effective game management.

 The Franco-Malian tactician’s approach ensured balance across all departments, earning him recognition among the standout performers of the group phase.

Ademola Lookman was also instrumental in Nigeria’s success, delivering a series of eye-catching performances in attack. 

The Atalanta forward scored two goals and provided two assists, playing a key role as the Super Eagles emerged as the most potent attacking side of the group stage.

The Team of the Group Stage features several top stars from across the continent, including Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Amad Diallo (Côte d’Ivoire), Mohamed El Shenawi (Egypt), Sadio Mane (Senegal), Carlos Baleba (Cameroon), Brahim Diaz (Morocco), Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso), Axel Tuanzebe (DR Congo), Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco), and Yahia Attiat-Allah (Morocco).
