AFCON 2025: Lookman Appreciates Moroccan Fans

Nigeria Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Moroccan fans for their immense support during Nigeria’s bronze medal match against Egypt at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Atalanta attacker was decisive in the encounter, calmly converting the winning penalty as the Super Eagles edged the Pharaohs 4-2 in a shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Speaking after the game, Lookman acknowledged the unexpected but overwhelming backing from Moroccan supporters, describing their presence and encouragement as unforgettable.

“The Moroccan fans’ support today will never be forgotten,” Lookman said.

 “We truly didn’t expect such an incredible turnout in a match that didn’t even concern their team.

 We were amazed by their massive presence and their encouragement throughout the game. We owe them all our thanks and deep respect.”

The Nigeria international also pledged support for the Atlas Lions ahead of the final, adding: 

“Tomorrow we will be in the stadium to support you in winning the title.”

Moroccan fans turned the stadium into a vibrant atmosphere throughout the contest, loudly cheering the Super Eagles and creating a home-like support that played a notable role in Nigeria’s successful outing.

Nigeria’s victory secured a bronze medal finish at AFCON 2025, capping a strong campaign for the West African giants.
