Nigeria’s match officials were noticeably absent from the official list of referees released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the upcoming AFCON 2025 training camp in Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

CAF unveiled the list on Thursday afternoon, and it featured no Nigerian representative among the selected officials.

According to the release, 33 referees, 36 assistant referees, and 11 video assistant referees (VARs) have been invited to participate in the intensive preparatory program.

The training camp, which is part of CAF’s build-up towards the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, will take place in Cairo, Egypt, in December.

This development comes as a surprise to many, given Nigeria’s history of producing top-level match officials in continental competitions.
