AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Group Opponent Appoints New Head Coach

The Tanzania Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of Argentine tactician Miguel Gamondi as the new head coach of the national team, effective immediately, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the agreement had been in place for some time but was only finalized this week, paving the way for Gamondi to take charge ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Gamondi is well known in Tanzanian football circles, having previously managed Young Africans (Yanga), where he won the Premier League title, and also led Singida BS to the CECAFA Cup title as well as the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The 67-year-old coach will now aim to guide the Taifa Stars to a successful outing at AFCON 2025, where they have been drawn in Group C alongside Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Uganda, and Tunisia.
