AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Players, Others Must Be In Camp December 8 — FIFA Insists
Sampson Adedeji
World football governing body, FIFA, has issued a directive mandating clubs across the globe to release players called up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on or before December 8, 2025, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The instruction applies to all 24 national teams that have qualified for the tournament, including Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Each participating nation has already submitted a provisional list consisting of 55 players, from which the final squad will be selected.
The directive is in line with FIFA’s mandatory international release regulations to ensure that players arrive early enough to prepare adequately for the continental showpiece.
AFCON 2025 is scheduled to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
With the deadline set, national teams are expected to open camp in the coming days, allowing coaches and technical crews sufficient time to finalize tactics and selection.
The Super Eagles will be hoping for a strong campaign in Morocco as they chase a fourth AFCON title.
