AFCON 2025: Tunisia To Face South Africa In Friendly For Super Eagles

Ahead of the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia have lined up a high-profile friendly against South Africa as part of their preparations to face Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The North African giants are drawn in the same AFCON group as the Super Eagles and see the clash with Bafana Bafana as an opportunity to test their readiness against a team with a similar playing style to Nigeria.

South Africa recently stunned the Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and Tunisia’s coaching crew believes that facing them will offer valuable insight before meeting Nigeria at the continental tournament.

According to reports, the South African Football Association (SAFA) has been in contact with its Tunisian counterpart to finalize logistics and confirm a venue for the warm-up encounter.

Both teams are expected to use the game to fine-tune tactics and assess key players ahead of their AFCON campaigns in Morocco next year.
