AFCON 2025: Uganda FA Reveals Players’ Allowances And Bonuses Packages

The Uganda Football Federation (FUFA) has unveiled a detailed incentive package for the national team ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as efforts continue to stabilize the camp following recent concerns over players’ welfare, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The proposal, presented to players and officials, covers qualification bonuses, tournament allowances, and performance-based rewards for Uganda’s AFCON campaign.

Under the qualification bonus structure, each player, as well as members of the technical and support staff, is entitled to $10,000, to be paid on a pro-rata basis depending on individual involvement across the six AFCON qualifying matches.

For tournament allowances, FUFA outlined daily payments and match fees. Players will receive $100 per day during the international camp, which is expected to last 12 days, while the AFCON camp allowance stands at $200 per day. In addition, a $1,200 match fee has been fixed for every game played at the tournament.

The federation also detailed performance bonuses tied to results at the competition.

 In the group stage, players will earn $8,000 for a third-place finish, $10,000 for second place, and $12,000 if Uganda tops the group.

Knockout stage bonuses are cumulative, with $14,000 for reaching the quarter-finals, $16,000 for the semi-finals, $20,000 for making the final, and a top reward of $30,000 should Uganda emerge as AFCON champions.

FUFA President Moses Magogo is reportedly pushing for the agreement to be formally signed as soon as possible, with the aim of resolving all outstanding issues ahead of Uganda’s crucial match against Tunisia on Tuesday.

The development is expected to ease tensions within the camp as the Cranes continue their AFCON 2025 campaign.
