AFCON 2025: Uganda Storms Morocco, Ready For Nigeria

Uganda’s national team, the Cranes, have arrived in Morocco to begin preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), as they gear up for a tough Group stage that includes Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A contingent of 17 players, led by Leader of Delegation Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe, touched down after boarding a Qatar Airways flight.

The delegation also includes head coach Paul Joseph Put, assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, and a full technical crew, who will oversee the team’s build-up to the tournament.

The Cranes are scheduled to hold an 11-day intensive training camp, which will feature two international friendly matches meant to fine-tune tactics and improve team chemistry ahead of the continental showpiece.

The remaining 13 invited players are expected to join the squad in Morocco directly from their respective clubs abroad. Uganda will begin their AFCON 2025 campaign with a clash against Tunisia before taking on Nigeria and Tanzania in what promises to be a highly competitive group.
