AFCON 2025: World Cup Exit Was Painful But We Have Another Opportunity To Right The Wrong – Ndidi
Sampson Adedeji
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup was a painful experience but insists the team is fully focused on making amends at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Besiktas star made this known on Friday during a pre-match press conference ahead of Nigeria’s crucial group encounter against Tunisia.
Ndidi acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the World Cup exit but stressed that the Super Eagles are not under undue pressure as they prepare for the continental showpiece.
“There is no pressure on us at all. We didn’t qualify for the World Cup and it was a painful exit, but we are ready for this tournament,”
Ndidi said. He further described AFCON 2025 as a chance for the team to restore pride and achieve success.
“This is another opportunity to correct the wrong and achieve something,” he added.
Nigeria will face Tunisia in their next group match as they continue their quest for continental glory at AFCON 2025.
