AFCON 2025 Bid: Nigeria Scored Lowest Points On Facilities Inspection

The inspection committee of the Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has released the performance and percentage scored by each country that bidded to stage the 2025 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Four countries including Nigeria and Benin ( Joint), Morocco, Algeria and Zambia showed interest in staging the biennial tournament.
The inspection team visited each country more than once to ascertain the facilities they intended to use for the competition.
Morocco was given the nod to host the competition as all the countries withdrew from the race in the dying minutes.
According to the scores released, Morocco came top with 85%, followed by Algeria 72%, and Zambia 49%.
The most surprising is Nigeria and Benin's joint bid, as it came last with 46% scores.
Nigeria last hosted the competition in 2000 when they jointly hosted with Ghana.
