Nigeria’s preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has received a major boost following the return of Super Eagles defender Ola Aina to full training, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nottingham Forest star had been sidelined after sustaining an injury while representing Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
According to updates from the City Ground, Aina resumed training on Thursday ahead of a possible return to competitive action in December, providing positive news for both club and country.
His recovery comes as a relief to Super Eagles coach Finidi George, who is hoping to have his full squad available as Nigeria intensifies preparations for the continental tournament scheduled to kick off in Morocco next month.
Aina, known for his versatility across the backline, is expected to play a key role for the national team if he regains full fitness in time.
His return increases Nigeria’s defensive options and adds confidence to the buildup towards the AFCON campaign.
