AFCON 2025 Fallout: Burkina Faso Sack Head Coach Brama Traoré
Sampson Adedeji
Burkina Faso have parted ways with head coach Brama Traoré following the Stallions’ disappointing outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Burkina Faso Football Federation confirmed that Traoré’s contract was terminated with immediate effect after the team failed to meet the set target for the tournament.
Ahead of AFCON 2025, the federation had clearly outlined its expectations, tasking the technical crew to guide the Stallions to at least the semifinals.
However, Burkina Faso fell short of that objective, prompting the decision to bring Traoré’s tenure to an abrupt end.
The federation, in a brief statement, acknowledged the efforts of the coach but stressed that the results at the tournament did not align with the country’s ambitions on the continental stage.
With Traoré’s departure, a new chapter now begins for the Stallions as they look to rebuild, appoint a new technical direction, and reposition the team for future competitions.
