AFCON 2025 Gets December Date

After much deliberations and discussion, the Confederation of African Football has announced the official kickoff date for the next African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition has been intense debates among the game followers and stakeholders since FIFA announced the time of the Club World Cup in 2025.

The football apex body in the continent held its virtual meeting on Friday and announced the date for the tournament.

The President Patrice Motsepe announced December 18, 2025, to January 18, 2026, as the time for the competition.

Morocco remains the host country for the competition.
