Super Eagles defender Ola Aina could be a doubt for Nigeria 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Aina sustained an injury in Nottingham Forest’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The defender was replaced in the 54th minute by Harry Toffolo after sustaining a calf injury.

The 27-year-old defender also missed the Super Eagles 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic in June.

The Super Eagles will host neighbours, Benin at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, September 7.

The West Africans will be up against Rwanda three days later at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.

Meanwhile, Rwanda head coach, Thorsten Spittler has released a provisional 36-man squad for the side’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya and Nigeria.

The squad is dominated by players plying their trade in the Rwanda Premier League.

Defender Emmanuel Imanishimwe, who plays for Cypriot club, AEL Limassol, is the biggest star in the team.

Spittler is expected to reduce the squad before the qualifiers.

The Amavubi will face Libya at the Tripoli Stadium on Wednesday, September 4.

Rwanda will then host the Super Eagles at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday, September 10.
