The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is on course to become the most profitable edition in the tournament’s history, with revenues from sponsorship and ticket sales already reaching unprecedented levels, BSNSports.com.ng reports

According to information from sources close to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the body has generated nearly €300 million ahead of the competition — a figure equivalent to the combined revenue of the last four AFCON editions.

The surge reflects growing global interest in African football, boosted by improved commercial partnerships, expanded broadcast deals, and the tournament’s return to North Africa, where demand for match tickets has soared.

CAF officials are expected to make a formal announcement in the coming weeks, with insiders describing the financial performance as a “historic milestone” for African football.

The 2025 AFCON, to be hosted in Morocco, is scheduled to kick off in December.
