AFCON 2026 Draw: Nigeria Lands In Pot 2

The Confederation of African Handball Federation (CAHB) has officially released the seeding pots ahead of the draw for the 2026 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Sixteen nations, including Nigeria, have confirmed their qualification for the continental showpiece, which will be hosted in Kigali, Rwanda from January 21 to 31, 2026.
According to the seeding list unveiled by CAHB, Nigeria has been placed in Pot 2 alongside Guinea, Morocco, and Angola.
Pot 1 features the continent’s powerhouses Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, and Cape Verde who will enter the draw as top seeds.
Pot 3 comprises Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, and host nation Rwanda, while Pot 4 includes Benin, Kenya, Zambia, and Uganda.
The official draw is expected to take place in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the 27th edition of the African Handball Cup of Nations.
Nigeria will be aiming to better their previous performance and challenge for continental glory when the competition kicks off in Kigali.
