AFCON 2027: CAF Confirms Qualifiers Draw Venue, Timeline And Host Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released key details for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, outlining the qualifiers’ schedule, draw location and final tournament dates, BSNSports.com.ng reports
According to CAF, the draw for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers will be held in Rabat, Morocco.
The qualification campaign is set to commence in March 2026, marking the start of the road to Africa’s flagship football tournament.
Playoff matches to determine the final places at the tournament will take place in November 2026, concluding the qualification process ahead of the finals.
CAF has also confirmed that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the three co-host nations, have automatically qualified for the tournament and will not take part in the qualifiers.
The AFCON 2027 finals will be staged from June 19 to July 18, 2027, as East Africa prepares to host the competition for the first time in its history, a milestone expected to further boost football development and infrastructure across the region.
