AFCON 2027: CAF Inspection Team Storm Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania On Monday

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that its inspection team will arrive in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania on Monday as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe made the disclosure on Saturday afternoon during a press conference, reaffirming the continent’s football governing body’s commitment to East Africa as hosts of the tournament.

Motsepe expressed strong confidence in the joint hosting bid by the three East African nations, stressing that CAF has no intention of withdrawing the hosting rights from the region.

“I am confident that the AFCON in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda will be enormously successful,” Motsepe said.

“That’s why I insisted that CHAN take place there to get them ready. We will not take the 2027 AFCON away from East Africa. A team is going there on Monday to start serious inspection.”

The inspection exercise is expected to focus on stadium infrastructure, training facilities, accommodation, transport logistics, and overall readiness in line with CAF standards.

It will also assess progress made by the host nations following earlier commitments and timelines.

Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania were awarded the hosting rights for AFCON 2027 in a historic joint bid, marking the first time the tournament will be staged across three East African countries.

The upcoming inspection is seen as a critical step toward ensuring the region delivers a successful tournament.
